Hosea's Wife

I have been listening to a lot of Brooke Fraser since I've been in Guatemala, and I just wanted to share with you the lyrics of this song. I pray that we will not be like Hosea's wife. I pray that we will be faithful to the Lord and will be a witness for Him in every opportunity. Lord, please give us Your eyes to see and Your ears to hear.

I just spoke silence with the seeker next to me
She had a heart with hesitant, halting speech
That turned to mine and asked belligerently
"What do I live for?"

I see the scars of searches everywhere I go
From hearts to wars to literature to radio
There's a question like a shame no one will show
"What do I live for?"

We are Hosea's wife
We are squandering this life
Using people like ladders and words like knives

[CHORUS]
If we've eyes to see
If we've ears to hear
To find it in our hearts and mouths
The Word that saves is near
Shed that shallow skin
Come and live again
Leave all you were before
To believe is to begin

There is truth in little corners of our lives
There are hints of it in songs and children's eyes
It's familiar, like an ancient lullaby
What do I live for?

We are Hosea's wife
We are squandering this life
Using bodies like money and truth like lies

[CHORUS]

[Bridge]
We are more than dust
That means something
That means something
We are more than just
Blood and emotions
Inklings and notions
Atoms on oceans

canción

I learned a new Spanish song today in preschool. Here's how it goes:

había un sapo, sapo, sapo
que nada en el rio, rio, rio
con un traje verde, verde, verde
se moría del frío, frío, frío
la señora sapa, sapa, sapa
le contó, contó, contó, contó
y tenía un amigo, amigo, amigo
que se llama.. JESUS!
que se llama.. JESUS!!

revolutionary love

Haiti, wow. I cannot put in to words (or even comprehend) all that happened and is happening there. I think Sara Groves says it well...

Your pain has changed me, your dreams inspire.

Your face a memory, your hope a fire.

Your courage asks me, what I'm made of.

Your courage asks me, what I'm afraid of.

And what I know of Love...

And what I know of God.

The Lord changed my life in Haiti; I will never be the same. Oh, Lord, please show me to love as Your Son loved us. We love because He first loved us. (1 John 4:19)

"May God be merciful and bless us.
May His face smile with favor on us.
May Your ways be known throughout the earth,
Your saving power among people everywhere.
May the nations praise You, Oh God.
Yes, may all the nations praise You.
Let the whole world sing for joy,
for You govern the nations with justice,
and guide the people of the whole world.
May the nations praise You, Oh God.
Yes, may all the nations praise You.
Then the earth will yield its harvest,
and God, our God, will richly bless us.
Yes, God will bless us,
and people all over the world will fear Him."
-Psalm 67
